Strategic Humanitarian Services (SHUMAS) is a developmental and humanitarian Non-Governmental Organization with main mission being to reduce poverty and empower people to realize the fullest of their potentials, without compromising posterity. SHUMAS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Officer to play a critical role in our Integrated Nutrition and Health Initiative.
Position: Logistics Officer
Location: Logon and Chari Divisions in the Far North Region, Cameroon
Job Summary:
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of supply chain and inventory management, transportation, and fleet management. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with internal and donor guidelines while supporting program goals through effective logistical coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
· Support all procurement and purchasing processes for goods and equipment.
· Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
· Ensure accuracy in records, tagging, and quality of goods.
· Coordinate storage activities, maintaining warehouse standards and ensuring the proper handling and preservation of food and non-food items.
2. Ensure compliance with internal policies and donor guidelines on inventory management.
· Transportation and Fleet Management:
· Plan and coordinate vehicle movements to ensure timely delivery to health facilities.
· Manage and maintain the organization’s bicycles, including monitoring maintenance and ensuring compliance with policies.
· Supervise staff to ensure safe and secure riding practices.
3. Coordination and Reporting:
· Collaborate with program staff to ensure logistical support aligns with program goals.
· Communicate constraints and issues in a timely manner to prevent delays in operations.
· Monitor and report on stock movements, supply chain costs, and asset utilization.
· Collect and organize documentation for all logistics and financial transactions.

Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience working with a humanitarian organization in a logistics-related role.
· Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
· Proficient in French and Working knowledge in English.
Desirable:
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
