In celebration of #WorldPopulationDay2026, under the theme “Realizing the Hopes and Aspirations of Youth Today and for the Future,” #SHUMAS joined fellow humanitarian actors and #UNFPA grantees in Bafoussam, West Region, for an official #MarchPast, reaffirming commitment to creating opportunities for young people to thrive.
Event Highlights
The celebration continued at the exhibition grounds with a vibrant information stand co-hosted by #SHUMAS and #UNFPACameroon. The platform provided an opportunity to showcase grassroots interventions, engage communities, and promote dialogue among partners working to advance youth empowerment and inclusive development.
The SHUMAS team also participated in a special moment of solidarity during a meet-and-greet with the #UNFPA Deputy Representative to Cameroon and his delegation, joining the singing of “We Are One, We Are Together”, a powerful reflection of partnership, unity, and shared purpose.
The #WorldPopulationDay2026 commemoration highlighted the importance of collective action in supporting #YouthAspirations, empowering #WomenAndGirls, and building more resilient communities. Through strengthened partnerships with #UNFPA and other stakeholders, #SHUMAS continues to advance initiatives that promote dignity, inclusion, and sustainable change.
